Robert Sorby Skew Chisels
Mastering the skew is what separates the beginner from the seasoned turner. This was even the topic of a famous Shakespeare play, "The Taming of the Skew". Robert Sorby has made the skew just a bit easier to master with their oval profile skews, which are considerably easier to control for an amateur. The skew is still the toughest turning tool to master, but it is also an essential tool. For spindle turning, the Robert Sorby round skews are the easiest to control. We recommend that if you are starting out you also order one of our turning videos along with your chisels.

 These Robert Sorby skew chisels are made from round stock, which offers the smoothest rotation of the skew on the tool rest of any skews. This offers great control and many woodworkers find the Robert Sorby round profile skews to be the easiest skew chisels to control, especially for spindle turning. These skews are really too small to use on bowl turning. |
