Nicholson Hand-Cut Rasps at The Best Things

Quality cabinet files and rasps are essentials tool of the traditional woodworker. The Nicholson #49 and #50 rasps were once found in the tool chest of every precision woodworker in America. They were made in the USA and they were great. Today, these rasps are made in Brazil and they are a far cry from what they once were. We still sell them because they are a great value for woodworkers on a budget, but if you can afford the step up, we would encourage you to consider our hand-cut French rasps. These rasps are made for us in France by a company called Logier, which has been making rasps in the old way for generations.

The rasp is pictured with a Lutz handle installed. We sell the Lutz file handles & cleaners separately (see the Lutz page). Lutz handles are made in the USA with native birch and are of the best quality.
