Larson Juhl Concerto Custom Made Frames
The Larson Juhl Concerto Line is Larson Juhl's premium grade line of custom made frames, which are made to size and have finished corners. All Larson Juhl Concerto frames with a gold finish are water gilded by hand. This is the first thing that usually marks a modern frame from a quality period frame, that the gold finish is not genuine gilding. Of course you can buy gilded frame stock, we sell it. Then, the second most important thing is the corners. The one thing that immediately differentiates a good antique frame from a well made modern frame made with gilded stock, is that on antique frames the joint can not be seen. Home shops and commercial frame shops cut the stock to size and join it, but they do not go back and gild the corners to cover the joint. On Larson Juhl Concerto frames, the joint is not exposed, since the corners are finished after they are joined, just like how it was done in the past on good quality period frames. The difference is dramatic. On a quality period painting, anything less is just not good enough.
The Larson Juhl Concerto collection is organized by styles. We do not show the entire Concerto line here. Like all of the products we sell, we carefully choose which models to offer. The Concerto styles that we show here are the ones that we like best with period oil paintings. Of course we can order for you any Larson Juhl Concerto style, regardless of whether we show it on this page or not.
Please Note: Larson Juhl Concerto picture frames are made to order at the Larson Juhl factory and the waiting time is 3 to 6 weeks. Also, please not that since these frames are custom made, we can accept no returns on Concerto series frames. So please, measure your pictures carefully. Prices are per foot for the outside circumference of the frame, which is of course larger than the circumference of the picture itself. Because of the these issues, especially specifying the size, we prefer to speak with our Concerto customers on the phone and so our website does not support shopping cart ordering of Concerto frames.
