Clifton Spokeshaves

Unlike the other tools that Clifton makes, which are all based classic vintage tools, the two cast iron spokeshaves that Clifton makes are both original designs. The concave spokeshave is not unlike vintage shaves used for rounding spokes and spindles, such as would be used today in chairmaking. The convex spokeshave is reminiscent of a wooden travisher but is not a tool that has a parallel in vintage tools. The Clifton convex spokeshave can be used like a travisher for chair seats or for other similar applications.

Clifton makes two spokeshaves, one convex and the other concave. Both Clifton Spokeshaves have 2 inch wide blades.
