Auriou Carving Chisels
Auriou is one of the finest carving chisel manufactures in the world. Auriou carving chisels are hand made in France to a standard that equals or exceeds anything else we have seen. For us, pre-War English chisels, such as Addis chisels, are the standard by which all others are judged. Ironically, it is Auriou, a French manufacturer, that comes the closest to matching the quality of the pre-War English carving chisels. The set that we offer here represents a great starting point for a beggining carver. Like Ashley Iles and Henry Taylor, Auriou makes hundreds of different carving chisels to meet just about any need. Interestingly however, Auriou does not make swept gouges.
