Takamura HANA Damascus Steel Japanese Kitchen Knives by Takamura Takamura HANA knives are a new line of superior hand made Japanese knives. They feature a specially designed handle, made to be more comfortable for users with larger hands than most other knives, while still being equally comfortable for people with small hands. The Takamura HANA handles are longer than on your typical knife, so that users with large hands will not feel limited by the length of the handle. This longer handle also gives the Takamura HANA knives exceptional balance, making them very comfortable knives to use for everyone. The Takamura HANA knives feature a hot-forged 16 layer Damascus blade over a core of state-of-the-art SG2 powder metal steel (about HRC 62) with rivetless Pakkawood handles. The Takamura factory was established 86 years ago in Takefu town, and is now run by the 2nd and 3rd generations. Each Takamura HANA knife is hand-forged in the traditional way, as it has been done for over a thousand years in Japan.
