T.G. Hawkes and his Competitors. This authoritative book presents new information about the late 19th - and early 20th - centurycut glass indutry in Corning, New York. Being the first book to examine the workings of the American cut glass industry, it examines labor relations, surces of blanks and special orders of the Whte House. It discusses the Paris world's fair in 1889, as well as communication between the cut glass industry and silver manufacturers such as Gorham and Tiffany.
