First modeled at Meissen in the early 18th Century by the legendary Kandler, the figures of the Italian Comedy, and especially harlequin figures, have become the most sought after of all fine German porcelain figures. Today, both Aelteste Volkstedter and Meissen are still producing these figures, with the same painstaking care as they were produced in the 18th Century. With antique figures being very hard to find, these figures provide a chance to own the genuine article at a sensible price.
